ALCHEMILLA MOLLIS

A neat, easy perennial with soft, scalloped green leaves and light lime yellow airy flowers in early summer. Lovely for borders, great in sun or light shade, and useful as a gentle filler in cut flower arrangements. 18”. HP.

Lady's Matle forms compact mounds of attractive leaves, topped with frothy lime-green flowers, in bloom all summer, before dying back over winter and sprouting afresh in the following spring.

They are popular, easy-to-grow, slug-resistant border plants, happy in sun or partial shade, perfect for creating low, leafy border edgings or ground cover and are suitable for both formal and informal planting. 

Alchemilla mollis is a staple of cottage gardens, a classic partner in rose gardens, and a versatile cutting flower. The blooms are popular bouquet fillers. 

Lady's Mantle seeds need light to germinate. Press the seeds gently into the surface of the soil and cover very lightly (no more than 3mm or 1/8 inch) with fine compost or vermiculite. Sow them in pots in late summer or the following spring. They should germinate readily and can be kept outside in a sheltered spot, or in a greenhouse or coldframe protected from frost, until large enough to plant into borders. 
Once the seedlings are large enough to handle, move them individually into small 8cm pots.
Grow them on in a cooler, well-lit space before planting out. 

Cut back after flowering for a burst of fresh-looking foliage before the plants die back over winter.
