Grown or planted in a sunny spot with well-drained soil, Estella Purple will produce masses of flowers and attract a host of different pollinators. Sow indoors between Feb-April. Surface sow the seeds onto moist seed compost just lightly covering the soil at an ideal temperature of 69-75F (21-24C). Germination is normally 10-14 days. Transplant the seedlings when large enough to handle into 10cm pots and grow on a little cooler. When all danger of frost has passed, plant outdoors in May spacing about 60cm apart, or use 22cm pots for container planting with one plant per pot. Plants prefer a moist well drained soil in full or dappled sun.
