How to grow Physostegia from Seed
Sow indoors between Feb-June. Surface sow onto moist, well drained compost just covering the seed with a sprinkling of soil and place in a propagator at an ideal temperature of 64-77F (18-25C). Germination usually takes 2-3 weeks.
Transplant the seedling when large enough to handle into 3" pots and grow on in a cooler conditions and plant out after any danger of frost has passed.
Plants prefer a moist, fertile soil and to be grown in full sun or partial shade. In the winter, cut back the plants to ground level. The plants can be divided during the winter or spring just before the new growth starts.
