Florist Dill is another useful cut flower filler which until now has ‘slipped the net’. This specially selected variety Mariska is more robust and so particularly good for cutting with tighter umbels of flowers perfect for vases and arrangements. Compact, easy to grow and beautifully fragrant. 2’.
How to Grow Anethum from Seed
Seed can be sown indoors all year round. Surface sow into 4" pots onto moist well drained compost and just cover with soil. Keep well watered and in a bright position as the seed needs light for germination. Germination takes approximately 14 days. Transplant into a larger pot when seedlings are 6" tall and again place in a bright position out of direct sunlight.
Seeds can also be sown outdoors into well prepared soil which has been dug to a depth of 18" with added bonemeal. Sow thinly and cover with a fine layer of soil. Once established, the plants should only require watering in very dry weather and may need staking.
