Rocket Uber

High quality serrated leaves with an improved flavour. Thicker and darker green leaves give the plant an erect habit for ease of harvesting.

How to Grow Rocket from Seed

Rocket is an easy to grow salad crop. It adds a delicious spicy, peppery punch to salads and can also be lightly cooked as a delicious spinach substitute.

Rocket crops will be ready to harvest within about four weeks and late season sowings will carry on cropping into the winter if the plants are protected by cloches or grown in a greenhouse. Sow at 3 weekly intervals for a prolonged harvest.

Rocket seeds can be sown pretty much all-year round under cover in cloches or a poly-tunnel, and from March to September directly in the garden. Sow no deeper than 1 inch spacing the seeds out evenly and aiming to allow around 3cm  between the seeds.

Water the seeds in well using a watering can with the rose attached. This will drench the soil but minimise disturbance to the seeds.

Once the seedlings are large enough to handle thin out to around 23-30cm (9-12in) apart. Keep the soil moist and provide some shade in hot weather to prevent premature bolting.

Harvest evenly across a whole row and pinch out flower buds as soon as they appear to prolong the cropping period.
