Salvia Splendens Estella Coral

Salvia splendensLatin name

Winner of the prestigious 2026 Fleuroselect Gold Medal Award and showing a new taller habit compared to other splendens types. In addition to its innovative plant shape, the flower colour is completely new to this type of Salvia from seed.

Beautiful coral-rose flower spikes bloom all season long, providing colour and texture in the garden. It's bigger, bushier and more well-branched and so ideally suitable for wildlife inspired gardening, large patio containers or landscaping where vigour is required.

Grown or planted in a sunny spot with well-drained soil, Estella Coral will produce masses of flowers and attract a host of different pollinators. Blooming from May through to September and tolerating both heat and drought superbly it’s no wonder the Fleuroselect judges awarded the top prize to this stunning new variety. 24". HHA.

How to grow Salvia splendens from Seed

Sow indoors between Feb-April. Surface sow the seeds onto moist seed compost just lightly covering the soil at an ideal temperature of 69-75F (21-24C). Germination is normally 10-14 days. Transplant the seedlings when large enough to handle into 10cm pots and grow on a little cooler. When all danger of frost has passed, plant outdoors in May spacing about 60cm apart, or use 22cm pots for container planting with one plant per pot. Plants prefer a moist well drained soil in full or dappled sun.
