Lychnis Occulata Angel Blush
Lychnis occulataLatin name
CampionCommon name
A silver leaved Lychnis with pure white flowers slowly changing to pink as they age Not an illusion but seems like it. 24-30".
How to Grow Lychnis from Seed
Sow in late winter to late spring or in late summer to autumn at temperatures around 20 to 24°C (68 to 70°F). Sow the seeds into trays, cells or pots containing good quality seed compost.
Scatter the seeds over the surface of the compost and do not cover, as light aids germination. Water from the base of the tray keeping the compost moist, but not wet, at all times. Germination normally takes 21 to 30 days.
Prick out each seedling as it becomes large enough to handle and transplant into individual 3 inch pots. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for a couple of weeks before planting out at 15cm (6in) spacings.
Overwatering or prolonged summer rain in heavy ground may cause rotting. Lychnis grows best in full sunlight but will tolerate some shade for part of the day.
