Sow indoors in March-April in moist well drained compost just covering with a sprinkling of fine compost. Germination normally takes 7-14 days at a temperature of 70F. Transplant the seedlings when large enough to handle into individual 3" pots and grow on under glass. Once any danger of frost has passed plant out into their final position. Remember to deadhead to prolong flowering and give a good mulch during the Autumn. In colder areas it may be wiser to lift the tubers before the first frost and keep frost free during the winter.
