Small star shaped violet-blue flowers are produced in dense sprays with attractive dark foliage and purple veining. A fabulous border plant, loved by bees and a very useful cut flower filler too. 2-3'. HHA/HHP.
How to grow Trachelium from seed
Surface sow onto moist well drained compost and cover with a fine layer of vermiculite. Germination usually takes 2-3 weeks at 68F (20C). Once the seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into 3” pots and grow on planting out when the danger of frost is passed into well drained soil in full sun.
After flowering, cut back as this will promote fresh blooms.
