CORIANDER CRUISER

Compact new variety with good branching habit. Vigorous, shiny green leaves and can easily be pot grown.

Coriander is a versatile herb popular in Asian cooking. Both the seeds and the leaves can be used and each offers a distinctive flavour. Coriander seeds have a slight lemony flavour; they are often ground and used as a spice. Coriander leaves, also known as Cilantro, have a slightly bitter taste and are typically chopped as an ingredient or used as a garnish.

Coriander grows well in containers and will live happily on a windowsill or patio, it enjoys a sunny position but will appreciate a little shade during the hottest part of the day. Coriander has a tendency to run to seed if stressed, flowering prematurely and developing seeds instead of growing foliage, which is fine if you are growing the Coriander for its seed, but not if you are growing it primarily for its leaves. Keep container grown Coriander well watered, but don’t over-wet.

To avoid root disturbance Coriander seed is best sown in, pots, deep compostable growing cells or directly into the soil. Seeds should be sown 4cm apart and 1cm deep.

Germination takes about 21 days. Re-sow every three or four weeks to ensure you have a continual supply during the summer.
