Originally a native of Peru and its surrounding regions, these plants have inherited the same lovingly flamboyant dress sense of the people. Grown as a bedding plant it's without equal. As a culinary plant it's a 'moreish' salad ingredient because of its spicy peppery taste. As a garden 'patchwork quilt' you'll find it hard to match any two flowers rejoicing in such descriptive names as Clotted Cream, Apricot Trifle, Alaska, Raspberry Sorbet and Cherry Crumble. PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS
Sow individual seeds 12-15inches apart where they are to flower approx. 2inches deep. If growing for baskets place 2 seeds in a 3inches pot ready for transplanting without disturbance. In both cases keep well watered and do not feed.

PROFESSIONAL TIP
Don't ever feed - they'll flower better. Occasionally spray for black fly with nothing more than 'washing up water' EXCEPT the plants you intend to 'devour'.
